It is possible if you deselect "Separate Move Mode" in preferences.
Then, you can select multiple nodes with ctrl+click and move them altogether.

Would it be possible to implement this feature in move mode too? (I.e. if more than one object is selected in move move, move them altogether.)
Unchecking "separate move mode" makes the move mode button disappear. That's certainly not disirable, as moving objects in select mode requires many more steps than in move mode. You need to click the object first, then release the mouse button, move the mouse (otherwise the cursor wouldn't turn into a move cursor), click the object again and drag it. In move mode, you just click and drag. Imagine if you need to adjust thousands of nodes to an arial image...

Mmm... I don't quite see your point.
What steps could you bypass by having this in "move" mode? You'd still have to select the items you want to move + you'd have to switch in move mode.
Note that selecting items with "Edit->Find" or dragging allows you to select numerous items at once and then move them altogether...

My point is that I like the separate move mode in principle. I don't want to accidentally move something when I click it in order to view the tags.
Currently, moving in move mode is more restricted than in some none-move mode. Normally, I would expect the opposite behaviour.
